  • 0 to 4+ SKUs launched, establishing the company’s first hot sauce product line and opening a new revenue stream for Big Lots.

Problem / Opportunity

  • Identified an untapped opportunity to enter the holiday hot sauce gifting category for Big Lots, requiring development of a brand new product line from scratch, including theme concepts, flavor profiles, packaging design, and retail-ready execution.

My Contribution

  • Managed the P&L and developed the product roadmap, growing SKU count from 0 to 4+ by creating unique, trend-driven hot sauce themes that resonated with consumers and met retailer requirements.
  • Led cross-functional teams throughout the full Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process, from ideation through market launch, ensuring seamless execution at every stage.
  • Partnered with creatives to develop theme concepts grounded in market research, ensuring bottle label flavor profiles were visually represented and complemented by cohesive outer packaging and copy.
  • Collaborated with packaging engineers and consumable procurement teams to develop innovative box die lines and new hot sauce flavors, optimizing for visual impact, functionality, cost efficiency, and market demand.
  • Oversaw off-site production, ensuring quality control and approving all products for print production and manufacturing.
